My Days in Raka.

Closing reflection

I went to Raka thinking about the change I could create in a community. I am leaving with a deeper question: how can I create the conditions for people to become the change themselves?

  1. 1

Understanding must come before intervention. Meaningful change begins when we listen deeply enough to understand every perspective.

  2. 2

Sustainable change requires ownership, not dependency. My role was to help create something that could function without me.

  3. 3

My role is to facilitate change, not to assume I know what is best — to recognise existing strengths and help people discover what they can do collectively.
